Love it!!! Had this problem, found this thread, found your addon link, problem solved.
Finally! Thanks!
Gotta add my 2c worth. Pretty much had it with plex now, time to cancel the subscription!
I need to download the images from the albums my partner has carefully put together in plex onto a USB key so I can take it to a local printing place and create a photo book. Why is this feature missing? It wouldnāt be a hard feature to implement.
I am at a loss as to what to tell her. Here is a wonderful photo organiser that all our photos are now stored in, including redundant backups on my local server but no, you cannot have the photos to get them printed. Why would you want to do that.
What a waste of time!
Hi info_grafikexperten_se.
Does the extension only work for the plex user and not home users on plex server?
My wife has a home user on my plex and have created a photo album. Iāll like to print/download from it, but I can share the albums acrosse home users and you plugin/extension only works for my plex user (the one I use to login to eg. app.plex.tv

Hi,
I assume you meant to tag me. Thanks for the feedback! I shall investigate this issue soon.
Yep, Bermos1 I meant you:grinning:

I just published v 0.9.1 on the chrome store. Please let me know if that fixed your problem.
Yep, It fixed it. Youāre brilliant Bermos1:smiley:

Did the last update for Chrome breake your plugin/extension? Now It doesnāt reconice, that you have picked some photos. Iātt will only download ALL and even that doesnāt work. It just add them to a queue but the actual download never starts /Rasmus
OMG, this is so hillarious that you built a chrome extension to make up for the fact that they didnāt develop this feature. Iām a developer too and I could see myself doing the same thing. Kudos to you! It worked fine for me. Also Plex, this guy is making you look bad
This is awesome! You made my day!
I packaged the code snippets from above in a pip-installable Python package. Please find it here on GitHub. Instructions for usage and installation are in the README there.
I would also like to see a bulk download feature on pictures soon. Otherwise I will not extend my plex membership

Still waiting for this as builtin feature. Theres no other efficient way to share the favorit album photos outside plex.
Hi Bermos1, first of all thanks for the extension, it is very welcome!
Is there a limit on the number of photos you can download? It works with some albums that have <30 photos in it, but I have an album with 166 photos and it fails. It tries to d/l a file called file.html and then Chrome says āFailed - no fileā.
Any help would be great, thanks again!
Hey harrowhose, Iām sorry to hear that it didnāt work for you.
I seem unable to reproduce your error as it works just fine for me in a album with 600+ pictures. Could you tell me what setup you have?
OS/Browser/self-hosted or app.plex.tv
Thanks and Iāll try my best to help with your Problem
Happy holidays
Itās too bad that Plex is so focused on new (pointless IMO) features rather than providing existing features more practical options/settings. I would like my local users to have the ability to download pictures, but unless you are the āadminā local user, you cannot. Why?
Agreed (re: pointless features instead of the basics)!
I keep getting email after email announcing all these ācool new featuresā for Plex that I often look at and think Iāll never use many of them, if any of them.
Yet, I also keep running into basic show-stopper issues that I just ASSUMED would be there, such as downloading photos.
What good is dumping all our photos onto the server, organizing them, etc. if we canāt pull certain pictures from the collection local to actually use them in various ways (edit them, print photo albums, send them to someone, etc.)?
I see people saying you can do them one at a time, which would be a pain, but better than nothing. But, I donāt even see that capability across all my devices.
I really do not understand why this is not there. My assumption is Plex wants us to share photos via Plex (I get that) but I am betting most people do not want to do that. In my case, I use Plex for home use and then like to āshareā via āGoogle Photosā.
Being able to download to share outside the Plex ecosystem is a very important feature. Even Google allows this!
Plex Team: Take a look at Google Photos (and others). They offer some very basic features that should be built into plex, like download photos in bulk. Can you please do this?
@Bermos1 - thank you for the extension, I used it as Plex does not offer this basic feature.

This is 100% correct and is the only reason I put my Photos into Plex. We do not watch them on the TV, we use it for storage and then need to export photos for various use cases. I am sure this is a very commin use case?
