Not quite. That appears to be related to changing their own username. I would like to change how other user’s accounts are displayed in my own server dashboard.

That’s where the OP starts from, though the suggestion thread is very much about how user names show up for others (e.g. your „Uncle Sam“ might be „Dad“ to your cousin or just „Sam“ to some other friend). This makes sense because e.g. me nick-naming myself will not be a Name others might recognize.
