Same issue for me. Really annoying
How did you guys get your Xbox 360 to connect to your Plex Media Server? Do I need to have Plex pass to get it to work? I have been troubleshooting this for 3 days now, did all port forwarding, can access my Plex server from the outside etc…I just cannot get the Xbox 360 to connect to the Plex server. It says Server Unavailable. I can access Plex server from any other device. Any help with this is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
@badfafane please post in an other thread, this topic is related to lip sync issue.
Same issue here. Same movies play perfectly in sync on my Roku 2, but are behind on Xbox 360.
I also test encoded my movies in a few different formats to see if that would fix the problem. Didn’t work.
I tried these using Handbrake:
AAC mixdown to Dolby Pro Logic II
AC3 5.1 Passthru (forces transcode to Xbox 360)
MP3 mixdown to Stereo
All of them are still out of sync. Work perfect on Roku 2
I also have the dreaded lip sync issue.
Is the 360 Still being supported? There hasn’t been any updates since August is that correct?
I’m left with looking for new hardware I suppose… wasn’t really budgeting for that.
Same issue here. And unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any answers from anyone at Plex.
Same issue here - a little surprised the Plex team aren’t saying anything as this has been going on for a while
+1
I haven’t noticed this issue much in the past but a very large .mkv h264 file has a very noticeable audio delay on my xbox360. Same file does not have similar issues on laptops, phones, or ATV3
have problem too, all other streams work fine. xbox one app works great. any news on a fix guys?
There is definetly some audio sync issues sometimeson xbox 360 (happens when you resume video but can sometimes be fixed when rewinding the video for a sec) .
I tested on the same network setup with the ps3 app with the same videos but strangely enough it doesn’t seem to happen on ps3…i really don’t wanna use the ps3 plex app cause it’s inferior, faster loading on 360,no laggy browsing, channels support, forced 720p on eu app etc…please fix this audio sync issue.
having the same issue, new files work without error. However started watching some older files but lip sync is out by about 5 seconds or more

I am also having the exact same issue an bencornelius on the 360 app. Seems to work fine on all other devices
delete and reinstall the app
this has happened twice for me. both times deleting and reinstalling the app fixed the syncing issue.
would be nice if this was fixed by an update, but for now “have you tried turning it off and on again?”
UPDATE:
worked for a few episodes and then crapped out again on an old episode of the simpsons. going to try again.
Been going on for a while? Now it’s Juli 2016 and I’ve just been hit by this awful sickness. I’ve been running the plex-app on my Xbox 360 thru my IMac and everything have been running smooth for half a year and it’s been the best media player I’ve tried so far in my opinion. Normally I don’t need subs, but this time I did. I managed to turn on the subs in the x-box app. Great! It worked out just fine all along the movie.
I don’t know if this is the source to the problem, but after this the audio is totally out of sync, and Plex is now useless. Trying to enjoy a movie with 6-7 seconds audio delay makes you want to cry, scrub yourself in the shower in fetal position.
There’s no file at all that works anymore, not even the file that I enabled the subs on. The other files without subs do not work either anymore. Of course I’ve been tried the reversed action by playing the movie that I changed the subs on, but the X-box now display that there’s no subs anymore “None”, so you can’t change it back. As I sad I’ve been running Plex in this way for 6 months without any issues with the settings 720 / 4 Mbps. It doesn’t matter if you try to change the resolution.
This is really strange and it seems like this kind of things happens from the blue to many users, as far as I can reed on the web.
By logic, someone out there has to know what’s this is about and how to fix it?
Users or Plex-staff. Do you reed me?
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated!

same problem here. removed the app and app data reinstalling didn’t help. is every one using the XBox 360 app still having issues?
I am having the same issue as of recent. Everything seemed fine until this month. Not sure what is going on. Thought it was my Onkyo because Chrome Cast was doing the same thing.
This issue has been plaguing me for months. No point in having a plex pass if i cant even get support.
I too am having the same issue with the audio being out of sync… but on other systems, like roku it plays just fine and in sync. Please Plex… help us out. My kids use the 360 all the time and it gets annoying…
Same problem here.
I have a Xbox 360 with a Xubuntu server. Many months without any problem until one week ago.
A lot of files are out of sync now (not all).
Please can find a solution to this odd problem?
Plex is the greatest media server!

Having same problem, All was fine until a couple of months ago. Now episodes MKV of about 300Mb are all out of sync, but play perfectly with the xbox video player. Longer files (full movies) same encoding, seem to be fine… Same files play fine on the PC app, the Fire tv stick and even my toshiba telly, just the xbox360 having problems.
Plex team, any ideas??? It’s getting to be annoying
