This was in prior versions but not available in the latest version. We used to use this to download photos and share with friends on social media. However, now we’ve had to resort to screenshots of photos.
Please bring back the download photo feature in the ios and android apps!

I’ve been checking every iOS update to see if this previously working feature has been restored, but so far nothing yet. I just checked the latest 4.0.9. I’ve got a house full of teens and a wife who used to download photos to their Camera Roll to be able to share on Instagram and Facebook. Now they all scream at me for making them update to the new iOS which broke this!
Not to be a downer, but couldn’t you just sync the photos you wanted?
Can we then share to Facebook or set as wallpapers? I haven’t seen an option for this with synced photos.
Not directly from Plex. But the images are saved onto your device and you can then access them using another program.
What app are you referring to MovieFan.Plex? I had already previously tried Syncing photos with the iOS Plex app and it works, but those Sync’d photos still don’t have an option to save to Camera Roll where all social media apps can find them. I’ve done a bit of poking around trying to figure out where in iOS Plex saves those Sync’d photos, but didn’t figure it out. So which other app can access them?
Not sure about iOS, but in the Android app, all synced stuff is saved in /data/data/com.plexapp.plex/app_sync. You need root access. I don’t know what restrictions iOS has. I just use a file explorer and I can view all the files and share them with any app.
From posts I have read, the location in iOS is Plex/Documents/SyncStorage/sync and can be access using iExporer.
Yeah, I’ve never liked iOS’s closed environment. I can probably get to the photos with iExplorer, but I was looking for a user-friendly non-techy solution for my wife and kids. I guess I’ll have to wait and see if Plex brings the Save to Camera Roll feature back.

Be nice if Plex inbuilt this feature though! 
I really want this feature on Android. I want to be able to hit ‘share’ or something when I have opened a picture to just share it by WhatsApp for example… Please add this!
I agree. We should have the ability to share to all the standard sharing options, and the ability to save a file locally. Put my vote in for improving the Android App.
This feature has been reimplemented in the iOS app. No idea if the same on Android.
