[implemented] Ability to view and edit conditions/tags in Smart Playlists

It would be great if we could view and edit any current conditions/tags (I.e. Genre’s, artists, etc) on a smart playlist so we wouldn’t have delete one and rebuild it. If at the very least we could see what’s being used to create it we could add in whatever was missing. Right now you have no idea unless you put it in the name which isn’t always possible.

That would be great. Usable intelligent playlists are a must to manage big music libraries. For example, I have a playlist that keeps 4+ stars songs and I have configured it to sync to my iPhone automatically. I think more functionalities and more transparency to playlists will add a lot to what Plex music offers.

Would really love to see this added. I love the smart playlist feature and rely on it heavily for building music playlists, which is part of what makes it such a pain if I ever want to edit the existing filters. Having to delete the existing playlist, and then completely recreate it just to tweak the filters is a frustrating user experience. Polishing up a few things like this will make Plex a much stronger contender in the music library management arena.

I’m right there with you on this request. It would be nice to have for sure. As a user it would nice to be able to edit an existing smart playlist within the web client instead having to create a new one. Options within the list could be the same as the options within the create smartlist functionality existing at the time of creation of the smart playlist. something like what’s pictured below.

Definitely need the ability to edit smart playlists.

Such an obvious feature! I can’t believe this isn’t in plex already.

I couldn’t agree more +1!!

Another vote for this. I agree that it seems obvious and can’t really be that hard to do. This is a must for making Plex my go-to for my music library.

Seriously people!!!

VOTE FOR IT IF YOU WANT IT!!!

Replying to this thread saying you want it or +1 is not a vote!!

I count 8 people excluding myself who would like this feature based on replies, but only 3 votes!! I’ve now voted so there are 4. And I replied to this thread. So there are now 9 people but only 4 votes.

If you do not vote it will never reach the developers radar and will not get implemented.

This is essential. What the point in being able to create filtered playlists if you cant…
1> Ever see what the filter is again
or
2> Edit the filter.

(Remember to click vote people. Its the only way the Plex team will know what functionality to remove next).

just one of many basic media library functionality missing.

+1 for me too (and I clicked the “Vote” button) - would greatly help my efforts to listen to, clean up and rate all the songs in my library.

I just came here looking for this feature.

I created some spare playlists then realized later I needed to edit some of the conditions and could not find a way to edit an existing Smart Playlist.

This seems like a crazy oversight and should be built into the Web and Plex Media Player computer clients.

Any software that wants to become a Library for a large collection needs the ability to sort. Plex already has the ability to create custom filters, and then save them. But its very frustrating to have to recreate those filters every time you want to change them.

Some of my iTunes filters are extremely complex with multiple and/or conditions.

I’m the exact same! Funny, I knew I wasn’t the only one who did this. Even down to the 4+ stars and not 5 haha. Also voted!

I just discovered Smart Playlists existed, so I’m at least happy for that, despite the inability to edit them.

I was about to edit a smart playlist and found out the hard way it was not possible. Yikes

+1 for me too. I was trying to move away from iTunes and found out the hard way that once saved I can’t edit a playlist, i’ll have to go back to hacking the database

+1…interesting that my smart playlist will keep up when certain tracks meet the criteria I originally put in, so it’s housed somewhere and would like to edit it on occasion.

+1 I have already moved to Plex from iTunes and this is really a must have feature for any serious music collector. It doesn’t seem like this would be terribly hard to implement since the smart playlist feature already exists… Pretty please PLEX

Please make this work for all smart lists and not just music lists.
