Saw the Sonos integration and was hoping Yamaha’s MusicCast was in the pipeline. Probably lower on the priority list since it is not as widely used, but I would love it.

+1 here. I ditched all my Sonos gear in favour of Musiccast because:
- its supports DTS!!
- I could choose the subwoofer i wanted to fit my application

I concur. I know there are a lot of development opportunity, but Musiccast is emerging as robust and worthy competitor to the premium priced Sonos at a more reasonable entry price for multi-room audio.
They will be adding Alexa capability this Fall. Please add support for this platform to Plex.

I’m not holding my breath and Yamaha needs to want to do it too. Musicast has Apply Airplay so I’m curious if there is an exclusive on it for a while. I emailed them once and got a response that they had internal engineers that are both fans of Chromecast and Musicast and would love to be able to include it; either of which would work so my guess is there’s a reason its not happening.

I think it’s the same reasons you see many car stereos that support one or the other (between Apple Airplay and Chromecast).

Honestly there is a huge opportunity here. At the moment streaming locally sourced audio to MusicCast needs to go via DLNA or via some other device. If Plex could appear as an applet on the MusicCast menu ala the Spotify’s and Pandora’s of the world and stream direct from the Plex server it would be a stupidly good matchup for BOTH companies.

As far as I understood musiccast, it is somehow related to DLNA, maybe even compatible to some kind of degree. Therefore I guess an integration into plex apps would not be that complicated
