There currently isn’t Plex support for HW Transcoding w/Nvidia GPU’s under native Qnap Plex QPKGs.
I have validated though, that you CAN get HW Transcoding by utilizing GPU Passthrough in Virtualization Station with a Win10 VM with the NVidia Drivers installed.
Plex worked fine and leveraged the GPU for HW transcoding (tested using the latest PlexPass version). I would recommend using SSD’s for the VS VM files to maximize VM performance.
I mapped a NW drive back to the QNAP Shared Folder for my media files and it indexed/played the media fine. Since this leveraged the vSwitch, no “external to QNAP” nw traffic was generated for that.
