Hi.

I add Logs.

Thx

I’m noticing the same behaviour.

Do we really need to have audio such as Dolby True HD, DTS and DTS: MA transcoded into EAC3? The Apple TV, at least the Apple TV 4K is supposed to support LPCM up to 7.1 channels.

Wouldn’t it be better for Plex to just decode and pass it as LPCM? Instead of loosing both quality and having the server transcoding the audio stream into Dolby Digital Plus?

Or would that require Plex to acquire licenses from Dolby and DTS in order to decode these formats within the Plex-app instead of relying on bitstreaming making the Apple TV decode it.

Is there a way for Plex to automatically select a better suited audio track? Most BluRay rips with Dolby True HD on the main track will almost always have a secondary track as Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus. If you are going to enforce transcoding into EAC3, why not make the player just automatically select the better suited audio track?
