4K HDR Tone Mapping - Proxmox LXC Hardware Transcoding - 11th Gen Intel NUC

Hello all!

I am having a lot of trouble getting HW transcoding to work on my instance of PMS when HDR to SDR tone mapping is enabled. Plex will use HW transcoding fine when either (i) tone mapping is disabled or (ii) playing non-HDR content.

My setup includes running Plex in an LXC in Proxmox, which is running on an Intel NUC with an 11th gen processor. I have tried to follow this Plex guide, which provides instructions for installing the extra drivers. I have installed
ocl-icd-libopencl1 and beignet-opencl-icd in both the host and the container without any issues. I also even installed the intel compute-runtime drivers in both the host and container.

If logs would be helpful in diagnosing the issue here, please let me know which ones would help.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts for how I may address this. I have tried every guide that I can find online, including this one, specifically written for 11th gen Intel CPUs. Thank you so much in advance for any help! I’ve been struggling to solve this for weeks.

11th Gen CPUs need Intel Compute Runtime 21.49.

There is an update coming for the Debian packing which will check for and report this.

Wow thank you so much!

For anyone else trying to do this, I had to downgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 AND install version 21.49.21786 of Intel Compute Runtime.
