4k version is used for transcoding to some clients when 1080p version is available

tbh, it has become such a pain when someone starts transcoding a 4K file on my server, as it consumes almost all the resources making the server dog slow.

My current solution is to set up another plex instance in docker that only points to the 1080 Media folders and use this server for sharing with my remote users. (Well at least to the ones using firesticks anyway)

This may seem like a sledgehammer approach, and it is still not ideal, but is better (at least to me) than using loads of resources to transcode a 4K file to 720 and almost killing the server in the process.

and for more datapoints. with the same settings:

Plex app on my Android TV: transcodes the 1080p version
Plex app on my ATV4: transcodes the 1080p version
Edit:
Plex app on ios (iPad): transcodes the 1080p version
Plex app on ios (iPhone): transcodes the 1080p version
