I have written a program (in Python and C#) to download the EPG data from HdHomeRun directly so that the channels match and such perfectly. It does require you to have the DVR service from them, but the directions can be found at:
It was removed due to the fact Silicon Dust instructed him it was a violation of copyright to use their data in this way. So he removed the program and had the thread removed as well.
It’s really questionable if this would be a copyright infringement as he is using their card and the service comes with it. He wasn’t redistributing the content or anything of that nature, just sharing open source (info) code to allow you to do the same. In the US normally this wouldn’t be a violation if you are using the data for personal/non business.
But he obliged and removed it at their request trying to be a good citizen.
