With the new combined TV guide for both broadcast and online channels, it would be useful to be able to “save” shows and films direct from the guide into your media library. As far as an end user would see, saved shows would appear in their library in the Plex interface however technically it would simply be adding a shortcut to allow the user to watch an on-demand version of the content. This would give users a much more unified experience, it wouldn’t break any licensing as the show would not be saved to the users DVR, rather just a link to on-demand content. This could also be applied to on-demand content from Plex, rather than adding to watchlist add it to their library.
A request for the same feature exists already, and it has more votes.
Therefore this one is closed, to prevent spreading the votes across several threads, even though they vote for the same (or at least very similar thing).
