Accessing media directory (not disk) not located in /media

I’m trying to install Plex on a fileserver with a fresh install of Ubuntu 19.10. The media files are located on a 14TB filesystem (/storage) in a subdirectory (/storage/videos).

From the research I’ve done, the Plex Snap cannot access directories outside /home or /media. Is there a way to configure Snap access to a directory? Repartitioning this filesystem to isolate the media files and remount in /media is not an option in my situation.

Alternatively, is there a way to install Plex in non-Snap form these days?

Thanks!

Not a Linux expert here, but the plain, non-Snap, non-Docker version is among the longest-available versions of Plex server.
You can get .rpm or .deb packages https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/

Indeed this was it!! For some reason I thought the official .rpm/.deb images also installed the Snap version. I’m up and running - thanks OttoKerner!
