Claiming my server is just not an option for me, there is no such options to do so at all.
My PMS server appeared on Plex Web After I reclaimed my server but It disappeared a few minutes.
maybe the Plex team working around now?
Nothing there locally.
" 192.168.2.22 unexpectedly closed the connection.". On this IP is my Plex server
Their server response to teh PW change is very very slow but I expect thats because its flooded with requests. What is troubling me is my server is now “unreachable”. I’m working on it but I haven’t found a solution yet.
Grrrr… reset my password, enabled 2FA, logout out of everything and now I can’t get my plex server to come up on my plex account…
Connected directly to the plex-server and logged in with my plex account, but see no option to “Claim” it. and now can’t access the media or live TV.
This is a real pain in the a…
I’ve got it working, very strange journey.
In my case, I have 2FA and my Big G Account connected.
- Reset Password, sometime after, I get the mail to reset ends up in Error
- PW is reset, despite the error message
- Can’t connect to Server, noticed my SSL Certificate ran out
- Still can’t connect to server after SSL Update
- Connected with IP to Plex Server and Activated/Claimed it.
- Everything is going bonkers, nothing is working, claiming didn’t go right
- Wanted to restart Plex Server, accidentally open the URL, working correctly
- Logged out of apps again, relogged, there we go, working again and connected.
I had the exact same problem. Restart (stop / start) your PMS service and you should be able to access it.
It took a couple of tries to reset my password and it wasn’t clear that it was working or not. Then I got an email stating that the password had been changed, so one of the attempts worked.
Then on Windows 10, I had to remove the existing server first which I think was shown on the settings menu of the nearly empty menu I was getting.
Then I closed and relaunched Plex.
Then double clicked on the plex icon in the system tray to launch Plex again. That brought up http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html#!/ and I was able to log in with the new password and reclaim the server from there. It took maybe 20-30 seconds to reclaim, not exactly sure. Everything seems fine now.
Followed the steps to change password. The password reset was successful. However, I’ve now lost all access to my local media library. And I’m “not authorized”. Followed all instructions w/regard to Preferences.xml. They were absolutely no help.
In hindsight, I wouldn’t rush to follow the instructions. They don’t seem to know what they’re doing at this point. If anyone has a suggestion on how to recover the local server access it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Phil
ok found a fix… you need to connect via localhost to the remote server
SSH -L 1222:plex-server:32400
You can then issue the claim the system
Same with me, presumably nothing stored on Plex servers so no action required? Would be nice to confirm tho?
Same question here …
Why is there not a single official response? Not anything on the website.
Still can not gain rights to log in my Plex Server again! WTF?
This is the second time for me and that’s twice too many.
Goodbye, Plex. Ya shoulda stayed a local server.
I have the same problem and can’t claim server again. Can someone help me please?
Hi,
i had the same issue and my password was changed, but now there is new issue that concerns me a lot:
I can login with the new password and DONT have full access to my Plex Server or Account Admin Settings.
Did the Plex Team limit our privileges?
Same issue here.
Using this information I was able to reconnect my Synology by first removing the server, via an option in the left column of my Plex ap (I do not know if this step was necessary), entering http://192.168.0.19:32400/web/index.html#!/ in my browser and selecting Claim. The process took a few seconds but I was delighted to find all my Friends with access list survived. During this process I did give the Synology a restart simply out of paranoia. I did, however, have to switch all my directories from Recommended back to Library in my player.
Same issue, cant claim my server via a claim token. Doesnt want to claim via piping 32400 directly via SSH from the server.
Plex support articles loop you around and are utterly unhelpful.
same question here. I don’t have a password, so I am guessing that is less bad…
