Google is not related, tho not sure what to do with plex

I have same issue - i used my email address and reset the password - now can not log in at all ! WAS this a SPAM message??

It was real.

Same here. Reset password and now unable to access media server even though logged in again.

Password resetting isn’t the issue. I reset it and now my server content is inaccessible. I get an error not directly connected to server. I assume it is an authorised server issue?

Well I have reset my password and my media server works ok with the apparent new password (as does my android and MacOS clients) BUT I can’t log into the general account at: https://www.plex.tv/
Any ideas??

My server is no longer listed. Not in trusted devices anymore. How do I get it back please?

Thank you for your patience OttoKerner. It was a faff but in the end had to setup an ssh tunnel to see the reclaim. Unbelievable how disruptive that was.

It’s a whole lot easier to change your password ON YOUR SERVER, then you don’t get into the where’s my server gone loop.

on a more general point, what are Plex doing about securing their databases better?

I’m not too chuffed to have my email address etc. leaked, let alone passwords, even if they are ‘encrypted’.

Hi I have followed the instructions and the password now I cannot access my media server on the Synology NAS. I do not have the option of claiming the server. I have tried restarting the NAS clicking the URL web link from the plex media server app on the NAS and still do not get the option of claiming the server … what a nightmare! changing a password should not be so hard. any help would be appreciated…

Hi not sure if it is a reply to my post but I have some much media on my NAS I cannot afford to lose it all, I question why a simple password change requires so a risk?

I would like to close my account but I can’t find how

Your media is not at risk. A Plex password change does not touch your media files.

That will not work.

Are you local to the NAS? If so, point a incognito browser window at the IP address: http://<syno_ip_address>:32400/web.

However…

You will have trouble claiming it right now due to the load on the Plex servers. Many people are having trouble claiming servers, not just on Synology.

Once Plex’s systems have stabilized, you should be able to claim your server.

You can try to claim the server, but the process may timeout. If that happens, wait and try later.

Account Settings, bottom of page: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account

If it errors out, wait a couple hours before trying again.
