Hello, I love plexamp. I switched from Volumio. Because the overview of the music is easier and better designed. Another advantage for me is that I can send music to any device via AirPlay and Chromecast.
Now there’s just one feature missing. The ability to connect an analog-in sound card and make this input usable. Why is that? So I could connect a record player and stream this signal to any device via ADC input in the best case (that’s my idea). This is exactly what Volumio currently does. This feature would be so great with Plexamp.
And what would Plexamps part be in this?
I assume you can also simply switch source on the Hifiberry to pass-through the analog IN to the connected speaker(s).
I don’t see the advantage to play a “live” signal.
Just record your vinyl and store them as files in Plex for playback at whatever time you can think of. Without all the hassle of dealing with an antiquated user interface
I wouldn’t use this and I wouldn’t put it in the backlog because I agree it is not Plex’s mission – but I can also put myself in OP’s shoes, and I see how some would get use out of it.
