my guess is since they only aggregate the service and do not stream them directly they can skirt copyright and TOS of the streaming providers. which falls outside of what Plex can do… now i see your point but with the death of plug ins it is a shame reelgood could not have a plex plugin and make it happen they way we all want.
i would like to point out that most hardware frontends such as Roku already do aggregate the content when you search

WatchAid on Apple TV (and iOS) does this as well and also integrates PLEX TV Show as well. It works extremely well. I have been using it for a very long time.

Curious… How do you “record” Netflix, Amazon and Hulu etc… What else can you “record” since you said etc… Maybe you are using PLAY ON or something like that?
yes i use playon to record those… why can that program do it and not this one is my question…

I would love to have an app that acts like a hub for Netflix, prime video and the upcoming disney+, so that I don’t have to switch apps and can search over all content and watch it. I thought Plex would be the best shot for that.

I think that there has been a bit on confusion here as to what people want.
I do not think anyone is asking for the Netflix, Stan, Amazon… content to be added to the Plex server.
What I think they and definitely I would like to see is a way to access this content through the Plex Client. Similar to the way I can connect to multiple Plex servers and search for content and it will play it from Plex server that actually has that content. It would be amazing to be able to connect the client to my Plex server, my Friends Plex server, my Netflix subscription… do a search and then stream the content directly from the source that has the content.
In this model the Plex server does not need to know anything about Netflix so there should not be any DRM or licensing issues as the content would come directly from Netflix with no middle man.

Then why is this request still opened and giving people the ability to vote?
You’re right. Closed. This won’t happen.
