With Tidal recently being integrated into Plex for Music, it would be really cool to see the same type of integration for the 3 major sports streaming services. If these services were added, it would finally round out Plex in that it would encompass a full media experience. Between Live TV/DVR, Movies, TV, Music (both local and through Tidal) and Pictures the only media left that Plex can’t do is Live Sports. If this were added, I literally wouldn’t have to use any other app to access any kind of media in my household.
I should add that DRM shouldn’t be a concern either. I can see why Hulu, Netflix etc cant be added due to DRM constraints, but these services do not use DRM. I have python scripts that just authenticate with each service and receive back the mu3/mp4 url to access the video streams and they all work just fine.
I think you’re mis-applying the idea of DRM. I can stream Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime through single a macOS app (Friendly Streaming). I can’t record shows through that app however… that’s where DRM comes in.
Right, I wasn’t expecting to record. All of these services let you access previous games for the season anyway. I was just stating this because I saw another post where someone requested Netflix, Hulu integrated and the response was they can’t because of DRM restrictions (even though recording wasn’t the goal).
