Adding metadata via API takes way too long with recent Plex server versions

I’m not using any third party tool to access my Plex server, but I have noticed severe slowdown in the recent months.

For me, it’s most obvious if I use Android TV to enter (not play) a movie that belongs to a collection.

The collection row at the bottom often takes at least 5 seconds to show up. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s a big or small collection.

@ChuckPa can you reproduce what I describe? I only ask because you have done tests in this earlier.

I believe I am also experiencing this issue. I still have hardlock with “Sqlite3: Sleeping for 200ms to retry busy DB.” in my plex server log AFTER deleting the docker, replacing the cache drive, and recreating the whole database from scratch. This crashes in such a way that the unraid docker cannot be shutdown or restarted, and the server is unable to shutdown cleanly either, meaning each troubleshooting step is separated by a 2.5 day parity check. Extremely frustrated at the moment . .

I do not run PMM and I’m experiencing SQLITE lockups on the latest Beta releases. I’ve tested this across 2 different installations. Something is borked in this release.

I have also experienced lockups on 1.38 and not while PMM is running. It seems to happen randomly.

I’ve fixed the SQLITE issue by switching to autoscan, as DB lockups where occurring when scanning was occurring.

Please forgive my ignorance, @bolagnaise : Does this solve the issue with the slow media startups or resolve the DB lockups folks are seeing?

It’s been almost half a year that this issue persists. Is there any plan to actually resolve it?

The most recent release certainly did not fix it.

For me it’s solved the DB lockups. I have a large library and if my DB gets malformed in anyway then DB scans cause my DB to crash. The only fix is to either nuke the entire DB instance and start fresh or implement the autoscan tool alongside weekly DB repairs using the PlexDBRepair script.
