Advertisements in Spanish and for locations outside my local area

I am a Plex Pass subscriber with a Vizio Smartcast TV set for the English language and the zip code 92507 in Southern California, yet most of the advertising displayed while I am watching TV Shows and Movies (Most recently the TV Show Prime Suspect) are in the Spanish language for products/services outside my local area (Iowa, Florida, and Texas to name a few). Few are in my selected language of English or for products relevant to me or my location.

I honestly don’t mind enduring commercials/advertising in exchange for the ability to view free TV shows and movies, but why can’t they be in the only language I know and for products relevant to me and my location?

Have I missed a setting or two that would limit advertisements to English and relevant products?

There is not a setting for that.

Southern California just has a large Spanish speaking population so it will happen more there. I’m in central CA and I get them on youtube and other services as well.

As far as ads for businesses and such outside of your area that is just poorly targeted campaigns on the advertising partner side. Basically the advertisers, when setting up their ad campaigns in the system we use (which many other companies use as well), set parameters on where they want their ads to be shown and they are not being specific to the regions they want their ads to display.
