I’m pretty sure the “better checking for invalid IP addresses” bit will be at fault here

I suspect that as well.

The current plan is to wait for an update to the cppnetlib software that is within Plex Media Server.

I have flagged the change you mentioned as the possible suspect fix - will let you know when i have an update on this
