After update all librarys are gone an my MacMini

Today I updated PMS via UI to Version 1.21.4.4054 on my MacMini Server.
Everything looks good, but after the Server come back online, all libraries are gone…
Any other settings are still there, like users, streaming settings, shared servers and so on.

The metadata where still there at ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
but not shown in the UI.

I decided to rename the preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist)
because I read about similar problems in this forum.
On the supports site. The Plex support site told my, that deleting/renaming the preferences file has no affect to the Media Library. So that was wrong. For any reason, PMS recreated the Media Library in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ and deleted all Metadata.

Luckly I have a Time Machine backup.
So I restored all files on:
~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist
And the Older (known as running) Version of PMS.

BUT THIS DID NOT WORK. Al my Media Libraries still gone in the UI.
So whats wrong? Please help. I had Metadata collection from nearly 10 Years.

You don’t see the libraries at all under the “More” menu on home screen sidebar or are the libraries empty?

If you still have it put the original .plist file back. It has what identifies that server for sharing etc.

It doesn’t. I do that all the time on test servers where I don’t want to reinstall the whole thing. All it it has is default prefs, the server identifier, and some account info. if you start the server up again without it will run though the initial set up wizard which you can skip through.

Get your server logs from when it starts up and we can see if it is looking in wrong place for the app support PMS folder. Do you have any other user accounts on that mac?

Thanks for relpy
Yes I dont see any libraries. Also not on “more” menu.
Today I restored the file from 2 weeks ago from:
~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist

But Libraries still not there. The ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Media Folder is 45 GB tall.
But nothing shows up.

Thats strange. During my efforts to get the media library back, I lost the ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server Folder 3 times. All folder were simple emty and I had to restore them with time machine.

No other Users on my MacMini.

Ok, I got most of my Metadata back…

I restored all of my files from end of january. The PMS Folder ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server was segnificantly bigger in january. Nearly 30GB more. A restored this Version and the .plist and pms. And now its working again, but I lost one month of Metadata…
