Gotcha. Since your issue was specific to Edge, I’ll continue back in your original thread. For op, it seems different.
@“MovieFan.Plex”
I have found a couple other posts that I think are related.
You gotta remember not every one expresses a problem the same way.
Sometimes you gotta read between the lines to infer similarity.
The common issues are.
- Files starting to transcode that did not before
- New behavior with respect to Transcoding
- Buffering media that did not buffer before
- Transcoder crashes that never happened before (There is one like this in the Shield Sub-Forum)
- All issues discussed involve transcoding
- ALL Issues seemed to have started with release of PMS 1.4.x most notably 1.4.3
Put all that together and there might be a common root cause.
But you could be right… Maybe not related. But worth treating them that way…
@jjrjr1 something is going with transcoding after 1.4.3. I have been going crazy trying to figure it out. Logs just keep on saying Transcode runner seems to have stopped or something similar (can’t really check since I’m not home. Right now it starts buffering, fails, and tells me the connection to the server has stopped, this is on android. Read that it could be the subtitles, turned it off and the video worked. But then if I try to run a video with that needs to be transcoded it does the same thing. Worst part is that all these videos worked before I updated.
happening to me now alos
This probably wont help… I’m running Ubuntu server and noted the same behavior in my case the Server had no default Gateway… i.e. could not been seen externally. The fact it had no external access was actually causing the internal systems to treat is as been external and thus transcoding by default.
It may be worth going to Settings --> Server --> Remote Access and verifying external access.
I guess this might help another Linux OS user my systems are all virtualised in ESXi.
