There is a main server setting that turns on media deletion globally for the server “owner”.
It would be very useful if you could selectively allow managed users to delete media as well.
This would come in very handy if, for example, I have a library for my wife and another for the kids. Once they watch a show, they can delete it and I don’t have to manage that data.
Thank for the consideration.
Steve
There’s at least one existing request for this feature on this particular forum. Let’s not dilute votes by having more than one request, please? (Even though this is something I personally would hate to see go live.)
I searched before I added this request, but I guess I missed it.
Can you provide a link?
Also, just out of curiosity, why would this feature be undesirable? If you don’t want to allow managed users this privilege, you wouldn’t select it. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Steve
My media, and I don’t want someone deleting something I don’t want them to delete… My hardware, I want to manage it. My connection and therefore my rules. (I’m anal that way…)
And sorry, I thought this was in the Feature Requests forum, but turns out it’s in the General Pass forum. My bad: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/229993/feature-request-the-option-to-allow-users-other-than-the-owner-to-delete-media
I get your points, that’s why I’d like to see this implemented as an option. Turn it on if you want, don’t if you don’t.
There are actually a couple of threads in the other forums where people have asked for this, but I didn’t see one in the official Feature Request forum, so I figured I’d post one here.
Thanks for your feedback.
Steve
