Sorry to hear that Dave. I hope you’ve landed on your feet somewhere even better.
I guess the layoffs don’t bode well for getting improvements like these completed. Anyways, best of luck in the future. Thanks for being so responsive when we needed you.
Still haven’t seen any movement on getting multichannel audio working on the Amazon Fire products (and I believe most of the Android products). Luckily, I can still bounce back to my Apple TV for this. But it would sure be nice if it was all in one place.
That’s not true. Amazon Fire TV Cub Gen 3 works perfectly with all sound formats like DTS-HD, 5.1, Dolby Atmos and the whole Losless. You only have to use Kodi and not Plex say that the cube, for example, can’t do that. that’s not true…plex just can’t do it.
Well, this is a Plex forum, which is why we’re talking about the issue… with Plex. Also, you are showing a picture of a movie. The issue isn’t with movies, it is with audio only files. It’s a totally different engine running that. As for Kodi… it kept blowing up and wasn’t reliable enough and didn’t seem to solve the problem anyways. Again, this is audio only.
I have the latest gen fire cube and I was wondering if there has been any movement on the DTS-MA issue. I’ve seen that plex now has a force DoVi profile 7 option that so far seems to work great but the DTS-MA issue seems to persist. When i play a video with DTS-MA the sound is output correctly but the video constantly freezes ever 10 seconds or so without any glitch in the audio. it seems like there isn’t an issue with the fire cube playing the audio, just an issue with the video streaming correctly.
