Our TiVo took a ■■■■, so I got my wife to switch over to Plex with a pair of HDHomeRun Primes. Works great. But I have elderly relatives who come to visit and stay in the guest room and trying to navigate to live TV is a chore for them. I’ve been playing around with sending Android Intent URIs to the device and while I can launch Plex directly, I can’t have it go directly to Live TV when the zone is turned on. I am utilizing a Savant control system, so sending strings is no issue. I opened and parsed the Android Manifest XML file for the Plex app but I don’t seem to be getting anywhere.
This works to launch Plex: android-app://com.plexapp.android#Intent;component=com.plexapp.android/com.plexapp.plex.activities.SplashActivity;end\x0D
I attempted to use this to launch live tv, but no: android-app://com.plexapp.android#Intent;component=com.plexapp.android/com.plexapp.plex.activities.tv17.SplashActivity;end\x0D
I’d also like to be able to setup favorite channels for them, so to jump right to ESPN or CNN or Fox or whatever. Has anyone done anything like this? Or could someone tell me if this is even possible with the Plex app? Finding information on Plex support of deep linking is sparse. Thanks.
