Hi , I bought a live time acces …thx for this great app !
I want to reach the most accurate and beautiful render for my 4k stuff .
I just saw that in windows player there’s differents profile , and two renders called “angle”.
What is this render please ? Is it better , more accurate or shall I chose the classic one ?
Thx for your answer
In our testing we found the ANGLE library to be faster for some of the lower quality scalers which is the only reason it was kept as an option. For those with low power GPUs (such as Intel UHD Graphics), these may be better to use. Our testing showed it to slower than D3D11 for the higher quality scalers which is why we don’t give you the option to use ANGLE for any but the two lowest quality presets.
The ANGLE library used is quite old (because Qt on Windows uses such as old version). It cannot handle 10-bit per color video so you are better off not using it for any HDR video.
I would say don’t use it unless you have to out of a low power GPU’s lack of performance.
I thought that normal render seems more accurate and contrasted ( my video are hdr, so angle render was lacking the 10bits color ).
I’ve got a mid class Pc ( Ryzen 3600 , and z Geforce 1660 super ).when I try to launch my 4k contents with normal renderer, sometime it lag a little bit ( but very smooth with angle ).
Is it normal with such a configuration that it could ponctualy lag in 4k traveling ?
( Hardware acceleration is on ).
