I just bought a 4 tuner Tablo that I like and hope support in Plex will be forthcoming. Is this possible in a futere update?
This has been discussed in other threads. Response from Plex is that Tablo is in essence a competing product so why would they allow access to their tuners from Plex and potentially lose revenue from a customer.
But it seems the HDHomerun would also be a competing product too, so that argument doesn’t make sense. Unless that’s the deal Plex has with Silicon Dust. I would try submitting the form for the community tuner testing.
I agree HD homerun does basically the same but only has 2 tuners.
I’d just like to be able to do live tv and use tablo ripper and mcebuddy to clean out OTA files of comercials so I can watch em later. I’m looking for a solid all in one single media center. I hate having to change to this app or switch to the other input to open a an app then find the movie and then locate a stream not being used to much so that it doesn’t buffer. It’s all very crude seeming and maybe I’m just better off continuing to pay DTV for their exceptional DVR / on demand experience. AND the wife would rather continue with the familiar but I’m a cheap ■■■■■■■ and want to change everything on her. Boohoo…?
my understanding is tablo is closed except to their apps.
