It’s been quite a while, any idea when the xbox app will be fixed? it’s still unusable and my main way of watching plex. I know it’s being worked on but regular updates would be nice.
We’re still in the process of testing and preparing a release for submission!
I’m wondering if Plex for Xbox One gets as much attention as other platforms? It’s by far the least attractive and most buggy I have experienced of the 4 I have access to. I’m currently running Plex on an Apple TV through the HDMI port of my Xbox One which is far from ideal but hey - first world problems…
I would love to see a bit more attention to this platform.

Well, plex for Xbox is quite new. Considering plex for roku, android, PC and iOS have been around for awhile
That being said. Updates are taking a crazy amount of time. No disrespect to the team. I have been here for years and these updates are getting irritating. Considering when you have an update that pretty much breaks the app and it takes this long to get it fixed. Since he said it’s still being tested to be ready for submission we are still weeks away… I have literally stopped using my Xbox for plex. I went back to my Google TV which plex will freeze the whole TV sometimes. I prefer that. Which is pretty sad.
You’ll be happy to know then that 1.7.0 was submitted yesterday and is in review. It includes fixes for the slow preplay page loading amongst some other features!
Thanks for the info !

Will this include a fix for the Audio Transcoding issue on Synology?

I hate to ask, but is there any chance this includes the ability to direct play for subtitles?
It’s going to be today I can feel it

I appreciate your optimism, but sadly 1.7.0 was rejected yesterday. But we submitted 1.7.1 today, so hopefully not too long now.

Haha yeah, typical Microsoft making stuff more difficult than it needs to be
Thanks for the update
@Moussa , I don’t want to rubbing salt in the wounds, but is there any news about the new submission to Microsoft ?
Are they troubling you with some real reason in the submitted app ? Or is there other reasons for Plex to stay with a unusable app for XBOX ONE ? I don’t know, maybe there is Nvidia or Sony beyond this
It’s a joke
Just some news to satisfy hunger, perhaps.
Thanks
We hope to have some news soon, hold tight!
Any hints at what the new version might fix/upgrade? More responsive? Audio Bitstreaming? No frame dropping on decode?? No pausing?
Thanks
I had to bring my apple tv downstairs because the xbox one plays slow and is unusable! hope this gets fix
Just so you guys know – When you’re on Xbone, if you know what you want to watch and don’t need the Pre-play screen, I have been able to do this as a workaround. Highlight the movie you want, then push the “X” button on that movie. It will then just start playing without having to load the pre-play screen.
Mine only freezes on the preplay screen for Movies but that workaround has worked so that I can at least watch stuff (however inconvenient it may be). TV Shows have worked fine for the most part. I have a really large library as well and haven’t noticed the issue happening with TV.
On that note. Any updates on when this new build will be available to the public? I know we are beating a dead horse here but this is extremely bad for Xbox One users. Especially ones that may be new and just trying Plex, this issue may steer them away.
Nothing yet?
