I think it is time to ask: Are Plex HTPC and Plex for Mac/Windows/Linux dead? Plex HTPC has not had an update since last July Plex for Mac/Windows/Linux has had only one update since May and that was to support the web update for editing some metadata on the server .

The lack of any further staff response tell me there isn’t a plan for the desktop apps but at best, a plan to have a plan. So with lack of any concrete information on the future of the Desktop apps, I will give you my predictions. First, here’s what can be seen from what is already been public in …

[image] gbooker02: I just wish I could say by how much. I’d rather know more about whats next for Plex HTPC. Whilst it is fulfilling what we need, updates have stopped.

[image] JohnAlex: Not getting artefacts using Plex HTPC. As far as I know both Plex HTPC and Plezy Windows apps use mpv as the player and both use FR matching. Plex’s version is modified so possible they have something that resolves that added. [image] JohnAlex: WRT Oooo. I haven’t us…

[image] JohnAlex: The ten foot interface seemed a bit sluggish too using a remote ? TBH, there would need to be some work to really make it function properly as a 10ft interface. There are several places where navigation will result in the focus unexpectedly changes to other controls making …

Appreciate the reply, as always. I’ll keep my head down with Plex HTPC and soldier on until its chicken little time.

[image] pshanew: Does Plezy support Live TV? It does but I don’t have any experience with it. I live in a location that does not get any meaningful OTA reception and I haven’t had much luck getting IPTV setups working in Plex to start with. It doesn’t support Live TV through Jellyfin (which I…

Understood, please see my edit above. But, in short, it supports it, but results in a crash. Thanks though. Plezy is pretty. But it’s obviously not ready for prime time itself.

I was using Infuse as my primary player, with the Plex app (on MacOS and iOS) to watch Live TV. This thread drew my attention to Plezy, and I started to use it as my unified client a few weeks ago, and I’ve enjoyed almost every moment. Live TV playback is perfect, no crashing on iOS or MacOS Down…
