I’m got a transcoding error earlier today trying to record live TV from HDHomeRun Extend:
Transcoding Error: DS218play, 1080p H.264 .
It happened on a recording from 3pm-4pm and never saved the actual media file. It would show as trying to record in Plex, but then put up a triangle and give an error. The error logs are attached.
Note: this could be because the TV signal was weak. That station I was trying to record is notoriously spotty.
Also, I successfully recorded and played back a 1080p H.264 program sometime later from a different channel.

That is a PMS error and not ARMv8 specific but working with my team member, this has been reported to Engineering.
From what your logs show, PMS wasn’t able to tune the channel. It might be weak signal, it might be a resource conflict, or might just be a genuine bug (not so likely) because you were able to tune channel 26.1 successfully.
Is this something that I need to re-download or update? I tried again on my Apple TV and the same message (couldn’t create the playback session for this item) was displayed.

I’ve got the update here (literally on my workstation).
I’m waiting for the codecs to be deployed so all of you can have access to it.
As soon as I can verify it plays:
- AppleTV will be fixed.
- New PMS 1.13.5 Adapter selection feature/fix available as well (surprise
) - And a bunch of other goodies you’ll find in the PMS 1.13.5 release notes
Where do you see this message? On the Apple TV it Plex side?
The Plex AppleTV app reports that it cannot create a playback session.
That’s weird, for me it just won’t play, I click on the play button and nothing happens - no error message at all.
Any ETA for the release of an Apple TV supported version?
It’s through Plex when I attempt to start a movie. It “thinks” for a minute and then displays the message.
Either way, as soon as I get codecs, we all get a BIG update

In there, you’ll see what’s known working and profiled.
The more we can test & profile, the better. It will give me the clearest possible picture of what I can safely enable in the final release
