+1. Is there an option to have a feature implemented if enough of us donate. ie. 10 people donate $20 and we get a bookmark option for MP3 files within a reasonable timeframe?

Nope. Plex does what Plex wants and rarely, if ever, do they say we are adding any feature soon.

I have seen virtually no response from Plex indicating that there is interest in implementing audiobooks but even that does not mean much. It just means that they are not saying officially no. Unless there is a HUGE clamor for a given feature there is no way to goad Plex into implementing any feature.

As far as I know bribes have little impact on Plex's feature implementation.

Elijah - I would not call it a bribe. I would call it crowdfunding a solution. If the Plex team is not interested, then that is their business, but I do believe there are some of us that are willing to put our money where our mouths are. That is part of the reason that we post here in the plex pass members section versus the free section. I understand that the Plex team may not want to support audiobooks, but I do not think anyone here is asking for something that is outside of what plex already has the capabilities to do for video file formats. Certainly everyone could convert their entire library to audio only MP4 and have their solution, but that is a lot of work that I think could easily be fixed on the enterprise side.

I'd honestly just be happy enough if they added resume to the music library. That's really the only thing missing. Beyond that a custom scraper could be made if need be, but I've created my audiobooks library and it works quite well besides lacking resume.

There is a problem even with that idea. The last I heard and tested Plex could not or would not correctly play audio only mp4s. That happened several server releases ago and I do not know if it has since been re-enabled.

I think the support for resume on mp3s should be possible but, if I understand correctly, it is a client side function and the server not where it would get implemented. That would mean that the functionality would have to be added to many different code sets and that would take time.

On the money side my "bribe" comment was more of a joke than anything else. Sorry you missed that. But 10 X 20 is only $200.00 and that is clearly not even a drop in the pond and totally insignificant in the realm of Plex finances. So it probably would take a lot more people trying to buy preferential treatment before it would be an impact on Plex's priorities. But I do not know for sure and Plex is often very much a puzzle wrapped in an enigma shrouded in mystery and about as predictable as the shape of a snowflake so anything is possible and nothing is probable.

+1 ...Would love to have at least a Bookmark/Resume feature.

Great suggestion.

I've stopped syncing any music or movies to my phone. Audiobooks are the one thing I still sync. If plex did audiobooks I'd never plug my phone into my computer again.
