+100 for resume playback for AudioBook files.
Has there been any response to this request? I’ve seen these requests back to 2012? Is Plex listening?
Need this feature!

Nope. Plex does what Plex wants and rarely, if ever, do they say we are adding any feature soon.
I have seen virtually no response from Plex indicating that there is interest in implementing audiobooks but even that does not mean much. It just means that they are not saying officially no. Unless there is a HUGE clamor for a given feature there is no way to goad Plex into implementing any feature.
As far as I know bribes have little impact on Plex’s feature implementation.
I’ve noticed quite a lack of Plex interaction with the customer base when it comes to these things and also some arrogance. The “not created here” mentality. Hopefully they’ll come around but not holding my breath.
Hopefully they will finally see this get implemented, as they have now implemented more music/audio related features.

In most people’s minds music and audio features have no relationship to audiobook functionality.
As much as I would love Plex to gain true audiobook functionality I really doubt this is going to happen in the foreseeable future. It is, unfortunately, just not of importance to enough people, or at least not important to the right people.
For now I use MediaMonkey running on a small low powered computer with MediaMonkey remote on my tablets for control for all my audiobook needs. It works very well but it would be better if everything media related could be accessed through one device.
This is very nice feature to have.
+1 here!

The only thing I really want is a “Home Audio” library that works like the current home video one does but for audio files. Syncing files, remembering played status and position across devices is all that’s really important. Full-on audiobook support with identification, organization, etc would be great, but that’s icing.
It really seems to me like a basic spoken audio library format would be a huge benefit for plenty of people without taking too much development time. It would be enough to at least make such content playable.

I would also like audiobook support. Please make this happen, Plex!
Exciting news… Elan just confirmed on another thread that “it’s coming”:
