I am wanting the ability to check a box somewhere (server or player side) that will auto-skip the intros and extros without having to press the screen. When enabled, it would be awesome if the button would then do the inverse and play the intro/extro when it is pressed.

I believe this suggestion covers your use case and already has several hundred votes. It pre-dates credit detection, but auto-skipping credits is mentioned in many comments.
