I am running plex on a ds918+ and when I try to stream a video over my local network to my computer which I know can handle the 4k it buffers constantly and is maxing out the CPU on my NAS, I am using an entire 1 Gb Ubiquiti network so that is not the issue, how do I force it to not transcode and send full quality? When I play the same video just with the windows player from the file directly it works just fine no buffering.
Something tells me you are not using the actual Plex Media Player but just the Plex “web app”, which cannot direct play HEVC encoded videos in most web browsers.
