"Buffering" Notifcation Is Excessive

The word buffering sends shivers down most peoples spines. Is it really necessary to display “Buffering” everytime a user interacts with a playing title?

For example, i’m watching a locally streamed movie, i skip back 10 seconds and “Buffering” appears… could this not be silenced it seems almost pointless to appear on screen for less than 1 second? i.e. only show the notifcation if the buffering is actually real world buffering, buffering that lasts greater than 2 seconds for example.

Even a notifcation with better/more accurate wording would be better “Starting Movie” , “Seeking”.
