All the media files on my server are encoded in a format that DirectPlays on all my devices.
DirectPlaying is set to “auto” in the Android app.
Media file fine in the Android app without any transcoding happening on the server.
Selecting the same file for sync on the same Android device causes the server to transcode the file before offering it to the client device for syncing.
This makes the Plex Sync feature impractical for heavy use, not to mention that it needlessly burns an enormous amount of CPU time and energy for no benefit. If the media is auto-detected to DP on the device, then surely the sync should also fetch the DP-able file directly without transcoding.
