Plex artwork (thumbnails) has failed to load in the Android TV “Watch Next” row on my home screen of my CCWGTV device, which is running latest firmware with Android 14 (and latest update appears to have caused this issue, as previously I wasn’t experiencing these problems).
Instead of the movie or episode poster, I only see a blank/generic icon. This happens specifically for Plex content; other apps populate this row correctly. This issue occurs in several different launches, notably the Projectivity Launcher and AK4K.

I believe this issue may be caused by a TLS/SSL mismatch by how newer CCwGTV firmware handles secure connections compared to older Android TV versions.
Note that this issues also does not appear to exist with regards to the newer Google TV Streamer device, so I don’t know what is exactly causing this with relation to the CCwGTV, other than stricter SSL enforcement rules that were implemented in the latest firmware and issues with how SSL certificate provided by Plex is specifically tied to the *.plex.direct domain, not the local IP address of the Plex Server.
Update: If your having same issues with your launcher on Android TV, I’d suggest using the new TIVI Launcher application now available within the Google Play Store, as this appears to resolve the problem with thumbnails not loading for Watch Next / App Preview Channels on the Chromecast with Google TV devices!
