On this android tv only photos report “unable to play media”. That is, they won’t open. I see the thumbnails. I find no settings for photos so not sure what to do. Videos and music all play fine. My android Nvidia shield in another room is fine. Suggestions?
Oh, photo’s also stopped working on my nvidia shield too. I use that all the time to play photos so I assumed it was still working but it is not. So both androids fail with “unable to play media”. Works fine in browser and on roku nodes. Which log should I gather?

So, on the nvidia sheild when I select a photo the meda server log contains the following. the .172 IP is the sheild’s IP. I have tagged most of my photos recently. Maybe this has caused the issue?

Even more mysterious, these photos only fail from the Recommended list. If I navigate to them through the library sorting (by time) the photo will display. And I reconfirmed from roku and from web they work on the recommended list. Is there a way to purge the recommended tab? There are a few that work even on the recommended tab on Android but not many. I’ve studied them and cannot find an obvious difference (permissions, exiftool output). I did a force rescan on the library but it did not seem to help. BTW I have three photo sections and the recommended tab on all three have this issue. Also I found some of the ones that don’t work have not had tags added so maybe not related to the tagging I did.

I think this has to be a bug. One time for a few minutes the pics on the first line “recently added” were working, then I navigated away and back and they stopped again. Now I find it is exactly the first 10 pics on each group that don’t work. From 11 on the can be opened. I don’t know if it was that way all along ,but is what I’m seeing now. I turned on debugging and there is not much. I think it is a bug in the android client.
Another very wierd probably unrelated thing. For the first 5 library sections (top-down) if you navigate into that section and then hit back, focus will go to the section name you were in on the left. So “Photos” if you were looking at photos. BUT if it is the 6th or higher section on the list when you hit back it jumps to the section above the one you were in.
Is there a better place to submit this bug? Happens on all android tvs that I try.
