I got the v1.0.46 update 2 days ago and was wondering why release notes were not added and now I’m assuming it was probably bundled with Linux and macOS at the same time.
Anyway there are couple of issues I have:
-
When quitting Caldera from the taskbar it fails to fully close and still requires task manager to close it. This happens especially if something is still playing and you press quit but playback still continues in the background. The expected behavior should be to stop playback and close Caldera regardless if it’s still playing.

Multi-channel audio format such as EAC3 (Dolby Atmos Music) is very problematic. Not only does it not output as 5.1 when connected to an AVR via HDMI that has 7.1. Even when you change channel mode to 5.1 or 7.1 Caldera doesn’t correctly output to the correct channel configuration and always plays as stereo. Now this could be a Windows quirk cause some applications can’t tell if your audio device has surround sound capabilities unless you manually tell windows to always output 5.1 or 7.1. This would be tedious to do every time so it be best to implement the solution that regular Plex desktop/HTPC already has that auto detects the audio codec and channel format and outputs automatically to the audio device.

After using Caldera on Android I was going to request to add the album art, title, seekbar and maybe even the signal path cause there is no way of knowing how audio is being processed. But it seems like you already added that? I’m surprised cause I wouldn’t have known it even got added if it wasn’t for the release notes cause on Windows I just don’t see the overlay? I noticed the new toggle to enable the overlay in settings but after turning it on and off. I just cannot not see it? Like i even tried the keyboard shortcuts you suggested: c and o but it didn’t do anything? Considering i got the update 2 days ago i thought maybe i got an older version? So i tried to reinstall it then uninstalled it completely and installed it again and still didn’t see it? I’m assuming this is supposed to be on the same window as the visualizer but it’s just not there? I only see the visualizer.

Speaking of keyboard shortcuts. You need to add a keyboard shortcuts page to the settings cause no one would assume there are keyboard shortcuts in the first place. I only figured out to switch presets with the arrow keys by accident. the same for Full screen i had to assume that F was probably full screen. So having a clear indicator that keyboard shortcuts are available is a must.
This last one isn’t an issue I’m just confused by what this means and how it works?
