Campaign for feature request of lossless to lossless transcoding (FLAC ALAC APE)

Most of you probably aware that Plex can play media in original quality (Direct Play or Direct Stream) only if device running Plex App support it natively (ie can stream ALAC to iOS with Direct Stream) … but if device does not support media, it gets transcoded (ie streaming FLAC to iOS get transcoded to AAC) … sadly transcode is in lossy format

There is a Feature Request for transcoding unsupported lossless audio files to devices using supported LOSSLESS file format (ie transcode FLAC to ALAC when streaming to iOS):

This feature request is OLD (since 2013) … and buried deep (took me 2 to 4 days to find it while researching subject).

I am aware that “DUPLICATE requests ARE being locked/ERASED!”. So I posted new Discussion “Lossless to Lossless transcoding (FLAC ALAC APE) … vote on Feature Request” in hopes of people being aware about this Feature Request and asking people to vote for it if they care for this. It was not put in [Feature Request] section … but put in [General Discussion (Plex Pass)] section … since people there can vote on the feature

My post got deleted … just wondering why? … it was not a feature request … it was a “campaign” for the existing future request … so does not fall into “DUBLICATE requests” category

Are we allowed to campaign for feature request? … just making people aware of the future request and asking them to vote if they care for it?
