The text is white on an opaque black background. Can i remove the black part so it’s only white letters? Thanks!
Can you turn those subtitles on and off?
Usually, I only see that with subtitles that are burned into the video permanently or on streaming sites like Netflix or Amazon
Is this your media or Plex free on demand?
Which Plex app are you using? Also from a server or on demand stuff?
On Apple TV and Roku it follows whatever is set up for the device’s subtitle settings.
In android during playback pull up the controller and open playback settings where you can change subtitle styling ( assuming they are text based)
I am using the plex player on Apple TV but it is the same on roku as well. I can turn subtitles on and off. PGS/ASS subtitles just show white text with no background behind the text. SRT subtitles show white text with an opaque black background.
the two links I provided above have instructions on how to change. Afaik both their defaults styling is white text on a light gray background. Text based subtitle styling on those devices are controlled by the device not apps.
PGS are image based sub that cannot be styled. ASS subs often have styling settings configured in the subtitle file itself. That’s why those likely are showing as you expect.
