In case it’s not clear…here’s the situation.
Plex works great for video, and it works great for pop music, but it doesn’t work so great for other types of music–for example, concert (“Classical”) music and jazz.
Looking over the documentation, I can see how, if I were pulling in content from a third-party site, I could use DirectoryObjects to present the content in a format that made sense for that content–for example, opera title and composer directories, or artist searches that included sidemen.
My question is: can I use a container to present data from my Plex library itself in the same way, creating an alternative interface that works better for this type of music?
There will be issues with metadata sources and assignment and such, of course, but as a first step I just want to know if this is possible–or, if it’s not, if there is some other way to achieve the same effect. Any help from more experienced Plex coders would be welcome.
