I've been tearing apart one of the scanner scripts I've found here, and it looks like you can specify the file extensions in them. What obstacles would there be to writing one that scans for pdfs and other ebook formats?
When creating a folder entry for plex, you have to chose: Movies, TV Shows, Music, Photos, Home Videos
While you could arrange to write a scanner to show the PDFs in one of the pre-created categories above, you cannot create one unless you fork plex code and implement yourself
