I’m running a Network Firewall that allows me to block incoming IPs based on country codes. Doing so caused Plex to randomly think that my server was not reachable. I was able to find six IP addresses that Plex is currently using to poll my server to see if it’s reachable, and I want to know if there are more, or even better a dynamically posted list that I can have my gateway reach out and download, so the Plex IPs are always correctly allowed to reach in.
It says Plex Team Member, but your response is foolish, so I don’t know what to believe.
The ‘CLOUD’ is not some mighty unknown entity. AWS is a series of server farms owned by amazon. They still support static (or elastic) IP assignment for your cloud services.
If a service provider is reaching inside a customers network, they should be able to provide the exact address that they’ll be reaching into said customers network from.
Suggesting that all AWS IPs should be allowed in is an asinine statement, as those addresses are not limited to people with good intent.
Probably should word the above in a friendlier tone, but your sarcasm was not appreciated.
