For three or so years now my PMS has flawlessly accessed .WTV (Windows Media Center DVR recordings) files and streamed them to a number of my devices (Android phones and tablets, Android TV boxes, Windows laptops, Plex Home Theater, etc) and either Direct Streamed or Transcoded as needed. Playback has always been flawless.
A recent PMS update has caused .WTV files in “Movies” or “TV Shows” libraries (but not “videos” libraries) to no longer play, on ANY of the above players (including the web player), without first preparing an “optimized copy”. This is not ideal.
I know PMS is capable of playing these files. It’s done it for several years.
Bringing back full .WTV file support, without having to create “optimized” copies of my entire library of .wtv files, would be much appreciated.
