@elan — Not knowing what “in the future” meant, I wrote a Python script to create Collections for Singles, EPs, and LPs. The code scans the PlexSQLite DB and assigns each album to a Collection based on the number of tracks (crude but acceptable; better than nothing).
Then on Aug 12, 2021, Plex announced the Server Upgrade with Sonic Analysis that includes Album Format as a Bonus Feature. The Sonic Analysis scanning of my database completed on Oct 3, 2021. I am looking forward to experiencing all of its capability, but I really appreciate the inclusion of Single/EP/LP identification for each album.
