Hi guys,
Yes, I’m a little partial to Christmas music. So have been listening to a fair bit of it throughout December. But now it’s January, and Im not so keen on having these tracks pop up in library radio etc.
What’s the easiest way to handle these tunes to make sure they only play in December?
Did exactly this and made it easier for my household, but there are some stragglers. For instance, Johnny Mathis has some Christmas classics mixed among the compilations he’s done of greatest hits so instead of deleting those individual songs, ruining the CD sets, I opted to rate them 1 star.
That’s effective and rude at the same time
With the newly introduced extended filtering in Plexamp you could also assign some Holiday Genre to your songs and exclude those holiday songs via a filter. Admittedly – that’ll make things a bid complicated for 11 of 12 months.
Well, this was in the works BEFORE PlexAmp had the ability… but I appreciate the catching up that its doing.
Plus, with the Holiday music being separated in its own library, I don’t have to see holiday music spotlighted on the Recently Added hub on my dashboard. I use to often visit thrift stores or ebay holiday cds to add, but did not like them being highlighted in the main Music library when I added new albums. Now, I can just keep that library hidden until Thanksgiving
I have a smart playlist that filters them out (a suggestion from someone in the forums in a prior thread). I then have recent played playlists on the home screen of every device, so it’s right there when I open the app
