Clients audio being transcoded to MP3 from any format

My clients are using either Roku 4k, FireTV 4K, and Nvidia Shield.

So what does their audio show that it’s transcoding from whatever format down into MP3? What gives Plex Devs?

You can look in the server logs to see why it is transcoding.

How are the devices connected? If directly to the TV’s then that may be why.

I too noticed this started happening recently which is strange as the clients use to transcode to AAC. MP3 seems to be a really strange codec to use for these devices (I have also seen it on a Roku, Premiere+ in my case, and a FireTV).

I haven’t tried looking at the logs just because I haven’t felt like downloading it but just wanted to add I’m also seeing this and that it’s a strange codec to use.
