Connecting streaming accounts to plex and view streams in plex app

I know the title is a little confusing but it would be great if instead of just checking what streaming accounts you have to get recommendations, instead to actually connect your streaming accounts to plex that was you can create custom playlists from those streaming accounts in plex and watch all within your platform. Kind of like how Enjoy Movies Your Way and VidAngel connect accounts to filter in their app, instead of filtering, you would allow for full customization of what you want to watch and then watch it without leaving plex.

Another reason i ask about this because I am a parent and even with kids only profiles on apps like netflix and hulu, i’d still like to curate what content my kids watches instead of just clicking around a netflix kids profile that may have stuff i’m not ready for them to view yet. If i could make a custom playist of things they can watch through different streaming media, then have it shared to their kids profile in plex and then they stream it through the plex client, that solves all my problems! I know this is alot hopefully it makes sense. Man this would be the COOLEST feature ever.

This will never be possible.
Not from a technical, but a legal viewpoint.

Then how is it that Enjoy Movies Your Way does this legally and Plex cant? Is it a difference in services being offered? Not trying to argue but there are apps that do this legally.

I suppose there’s a difference in what they consider to be legal (not violating US copyright laws by not storing/distributing the media by themselves) and potentially violating the streaming providers‘ terms. If you’re Amazon and make money from showing ads during a stream… some other platform passing through your media and offering to skip those ads will probably tick you off a tiny bit. Especially if they’re making money themselves by offering your media.

That’s why companies trying things like this usually need licensing agreements.
